ExFlow Web Migration Guide

Important Notice!​

All side-by-side 2023 applications will be permanently deleted on February 14, 2025. Customers and partners who have postponed migration or have not fully onboarded to version 2024 (or later) are strongly advised to complete the migration immediately to ensure uninterrupted service.

Self-hosted Migration​

Starting in 2025, we will initiate the migration of FO self-hosted environments. The process has already begun, with the first pilots and early adopters actively participating. Further updates will be shared upon completion of the pilot stage.

BC On-Prem Migration​

A short pre-study will be conducted regarding BC on-prem migration to version 2025. Updates will be provided once the pre-study is finalized.

ExFlow Cloud 2024 Migration Status​

The migration to ExFlow Web 2024 is now complete. This document serves as a reference for the original migration process and details.

Completed Migration Overview​

  1. Migration Process: The migration process was designed to be as seamless as possible and is now finalized.

  2. Test and Production Environments: Customers successfully migrated their test and production environments to the 2024 version.

  3. Partner Migration: Dynamics BC partners connected to onboard.exflow.cloud1 managed the migration process directly through the portal.

  4. Support: Our support team was available throughout the migration to assist with any challenges.

We’re thrilled to have all customers on the 2024 version and look forward to supporting you with the latest features and improvements.

Dynamics FO (DFO)​

For reference, here are the key updates and requirements that were part of the DFO migration:

  • Application Registration: Applications were registered as Entra ID applications in DFO.

  • Service User: Service users with minimal permissions were recommended for increased security.

  • Admin Consent: Admin consent was required for the app registration process.

  • /OnboardAssist: Our application included features to detect potential onboarding and migration-related issues.

Dynamics BC (DBC)​

For reference, these were the considerations for DBC customers during migration:

  • If user profile pictures did not display correctly, IT admins were advised to re-consent the app by navigating to the /OnboardAssist page and following the instructions.

Timeline​

  • Pre-GA Availability: Available during the migration phase.
  • GA: Fully live as of April 2024.
  • Migration Schedule: More information.

Limitations​

These limitations applied during the migration:

  • On-Prem: The migration process for on-prem hosted DBC was not supported.
  • Self-hosted: The migration process for self-hosted DFO was not supported. Self-hosted solutions were expected to move to Azure Marketplace in the future.

Additional Information​

Versions of the ExFlow Web application preceding the 2024 release were labeled as 2023.XX. These versions continued to receive support for older legacy systems such as NAV, AX, etc.

Update for Scheduled Go-Live Customers​

If you planned your go-live on our old website (version 2023), the process was managed manually to ensure a smooth transition.
